Well this is what fans want to hear.

According to TSN’s Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, the Florida Panthers want to make a decision regarding the No. 1 overall pick before they hit the Wells Fargo Center draft floor.

Dreger also mentions that there are a number of teams interested in the first pick, especially a few teams that do not have top 10 status.

This is interesting, especially after it was made known that Dale Tallon, Florida’s general manager, had received a few offers prior to today. The Flyers were already mentioned to be one of the league’s “most aggressive teams” trying to trade up in the draft.

And earlier this week, Philadelphia Flyers General Manager Ron Hextall gave the city some insight on his plans for the draft.

Hextall didn’t rule out trading up in the draft, either. It was alluded to that the Flyers had been interested in trading up in the draft and possibly for the No. 1 pick. Another name that has been thrown around has been Vincent Lecavalier, who has a big contract. With the recent trade of Scott Hartnell, anything can happen. Don’t be surprised if you see any of this happen. (from the article)

So it looks like 5 p.m. will be the time that the decision is made, making it a deadline before a deadline. Could a big move be on the way in Philadelphia?
